Kenna's Birthday Party

We celebrated Kenna's birthday on the 20th with some of our friends. We did it outside and had a little pizza party. It was a pretty afternoon-perfect for a party. This was the cake. It was a lot of fun to make. I would recommend using one with Jello in it for their first birthdays if you are going to let them eat it. Kenna absolutely loved it-as you will see- and loved how it felt. She had a lot of fun playing with it.

That is one of the marshmallow faucets that is sticking out of her mouth.

She kept on going for some time. For the first little bit, she just played with the Jello, but when she finally ate some, that's when it started making it to her mouth.

After awhile, we let anyone that wanted to help her eat it. How could they resist? Doesn't it look so appetizing? :)

Cutest Kids ever

No, I did not pose Kenna this way, I guess it just comes natural to her. This is a picture I took to put on her Birthday invitations-they turned out cute.

Dallin was all about hugging, but Kenna wasn't so sure. Dallin is such a sweet older brother and always looking out for Kenna, sometimes a little more than she would like.

I am partial, but each time I look at my kids, I can't believe how cute they are. I love being their mom and am sure proud of my kids.

The Niabi Zoo

I don't know if you have all heard, but last year when we saw the bear eating apples, that was all Dallin could talk about. This time when they fed the bears, he wanted to only eat the corn. It's the sweet Iowa corn that is in season. Who could blame him?

Kenna just wanted to jump right in with them and would have had Denny not held her back. She got licked a couple of times and would just giggle.

Mississippi River Aquarium and Museum

The beginning of August, we went to a really cool Museum in Dubuque, Iowa. This was in the front and we had a lot of fun.

You make think that Dallin is excited to see himself, but actually there were fish on the other side. He ran from one tank to the other and had so much fun.

Crystal Lake Caves

The beginning of August, we took a little day trip to Dubuque, Iowa (about an hour north) and went to Crystal Lake caves

This is called the cathedral and there has actually been quite a few people that have gotten married done here. The ceiling right above us was really high.

This is called "The Bell" and it weighs like 2 tons, or close to that.

This was called the Pipe Organ.

This is suppose to bring you good luck if you rub this.It is about 50 degrees in the cave year round. We had a lot of fun and got some cool pictures.
