Best of Friends.

We have been so blessed while being out in Iowa to have some of dearest friends live right by us. Dallin can walk out the door and find 5 of his best of friends in his back yard. They love to have friends over and I think that it's helped all of us wives to be able to hang out or trade off kids for all of those husband-less days. They got this cute table from Grandma Kimball for Christmas and as you can see....it's a hit. Anytime Kenna sees me go in the Kitchen and sees me getting something out of the fridge or cupboard, she goes and sits down and waits. Above is snack time with Jocelyn and Lexie and below is snack time with cousins Lydia and Isaac.

One night, Marianne, Molly and I got together for a little pot-luck dinner because all of our Husbands were going to be gone all day and not get home until after dinner. We were trying to get everything ready for dinner and the kids were going crazy. I put on a movie just to help get dinner on the table. All of the kids sat on the couch and watched. We were all in the kitchen when we looked out and saw this. Isaac appartently loves ears and will rub his own or anyone elses, especially when he's tired. Well..if you look closely, he is rubbing Jocelyn's earlobe and by the looks of it, she loves it.

My Little Book Worm

Kenna is so funny. She will go upstairs all by herself, pull out her silky blanket from her bed and find a binky from her crib. I will go upstairs all the time and find her in the rocking chair or her little chair reading books. A lot of times she will be content for a good half an hour reading books by herself. What a good girl. Here she is reading to her friend Jocelyn. I thought it was cute how involved in the book they look. These two have a lot of fun together and are always happy to see eachother.

Chocolate Cheesecake.

For Valentines Day, we got a pizza. On Friday, Denny was in the clinic until 7:30. The kids usually go to bed at 7:00, so I made a really nice dinner of ham and potatoes and spinach salad and Denny and I had dinner alone and had more of your traditional Valentines dinner. Well, for dessert I made Chocolate Cheesecake. It was very rich, but really fun to make for Valentines day. We enjoyed some and then took some to friends because there was no way we would be able to finish it. We saved a couple of pieces to have later.

I pulled it out a couple of days later and had it on the counter. Denny and I were having little bites here and there, but when the kids discovered what we were doing, they dragged their little chairs over to the counter and grabbed their forks and were ready to dig in. I went into the other room and then I heard Dallin and Kenna laughing. I walked into the kitchen to discover this. Denny figured he couldn't fight them on this, so he gave in. Just to clarify, my kids usually don't have free access to any kind of sugar, let alone a whole cheesecake, but it was really cute. In the above pictures you can just hear them thinking, "Can you believe they are actually letting us do this?? How cool is this?"

Valentine's Day

Since being in Iowa, we had gotten a heart shape pizza for Valentine's Day. We got this pizza on Valentines Day, (Thurs) and then I made Denny a really nice dinner for Friday night. Dallin and Kenna and had pretty rough night the night before so for my Valentines' Day gift, Denny got up with the kids, got them bathed, dressed(in red I might add) and even did Kenna's hair. He then took them to the store and out of the house so I could sleep in--what a sweetheart. They bought me home those yellow flowers on the table. I love my family!!

This is Denny explaining to Dallin (using a heart shaped pizza might I add) how the human heart works. Dallin is so cute because even though you know he doesn't understand a word of what Denny is saying here, he was saying "Oh, Uh-huh, Oh, yeah??" like he couldn't be more interested. Sometimes while Denny is reading one of his school books and Dallin wants to read with him, Denny will read out loud what ever it is that he's reading. Dallin will do the same thing....what a great little buddy he is.

Super Kids

Dallin got a cool cape from his Grandma Hatch. It has Superman on one side and batman on the other. He loves to fly around. One day he was flying around, sound effects and all, and Kenna joined in, with her sound effects. It was pretty funny because the were going the opposite way and almost ran into each other so many times. Here is one of the close calls. They especially love it when daddy helps them really fly. I come up with a little girl cape that I am in the process of making for Kenna. It's super girl on one side, ( you have to have that so you can fly with Dallin) and a princess on the other. It turned out pretty cute.

Kenna's Pigtails.

I think a little girl in pigtails is the cutest thing. This was our latest attempt. Kenna looked so cute, but we still weren't able to fit all of her hair in them and after her nap it was a little crazy, but I had to share how cute she looked.

Dallin's SOCCER

So, Dallin is in a little soccer league and loving it. I know he still doesn't understand the game, but he runs around with a smile on his face the entire time and will kick the ball when the opportunity presents itself, it doesn't get better than that. This is him before is first game. I had him turn around to show the back of his jersey. I got little iron-on letters and thought it looked so cute. He thought he still had to pose and say cheese. Funny boy.

This is on picture day. I still haven't gotten his back, but this is one that I took and thought it was pretty cute. I will post his individual ones when we get them.

Dallin's cousin, Lydia, is on his team and that have a lot of fun. Here he is warming up at his practice. Funny story: during his first game all we told him was keep his eye on the ball and kick it into the goal. The way they have these indoor fields set up is there are three little fields all side by side, each having a game. Dallin loves the artificial grass and got a little distracted for a minute. When he looked up, the first ball that he saw was on the next field over, so he went after it. No one really noticed because everyone wears the same jersey, red or blue, so he blended in with all the other little kids in the next field. After a minute or two of failing to get his attention, I had to run and get him and bring him back to the right field. It is a very entertaining sport to watch.

During the practice he would randomly stop Lydia and tell her how much fun this is. They would jump up and down, and then get on with the practice.

Stretching your back and warming up is very important in Pee-Wee soccer.

This is him before his first practice. He was really excited to finally go and play after we had been talking about it for awhile. What a cute boy and I love being a soccer mom.

Mommy's Little Helpers.

Helping Mommy mop the floor. You will notice below that both Dallin and Kenna have their little rags. She is at the point that if Dallin is doing something or has something, she wants in. It's fun to see them interact more and more as friends.

Dallin practicing changing diapers. Too bad that he hasn't perfected it enough to take on Kenna's. When is too early to potty train?? :)
